Copdock Hall Wedding Photographer
I'm a preferred supplier at Copdock Hall, and it's just up the road from me in Belstead, so I've photographed and filmed plenty of weddings here. I know the building, the team and where the light falls at every time of year.
About Copdock Hall
Copdock Hall sits just outside Ipswich and is exclusive use, so the whole place is yours for the day. The centrepiece is a Grade II listed Elizabethan barn with flint walls, seating up to 180. Around it there's a vineyard, a wildflower meadow, a courtyard with an open-fronted barn and a garden pergola for outdoor ceremonies. There's a honeymoon suite and seven ensuite rooms on site, and St Peter's Church is a short walk away if you'd like a church wedding.
Where the best photos are

The vineyard at golden hour. For summer weddings, sunset portraits among the vines are hard to beat.

The church gate at St Peter's. A lovely spot for your first photos as a married couple if you marry at the church.

The wildflower meadow. At its best from late spring through summer.

The flint walls and courtyard. Great texture for group shots and relaxed drinks reception photos, and covered if the weather turns.

Inside the barn. There's enough natural light for me to photograph the ceremony without flash, and it looks brilliant lit up for the evening.

Light and timings through the year
In summer, golden hour lands late in the evening, often after the speeches, so it's worth letting me steal you both for ten minutes between dinner and the first dance. From October to March the sun sets much earlier, so I'll usually suggest couple portraits straight after the ceremony or during the drinks reception, while there's still daylight.
If it rains, the open-fronted barn and courtyard give you somewhere covered for drinks and group shots. In winter, the barn with candles and fairy lights is one of my favourite settings anywhere.
