Tudor Barn Belstead Wedding Photographer

The Tudor Barn is about four minutes from my front door in Belstead, which makes it as local as venues get for me. I've photographed and filmed a lot of weddings here, I'm in and out regularly throughout the year, and I'm the photographer for The Edit, the Tudor Barn's own curated wedding package.

About The Tudor Barn

The barn is built around original 16th-century oak framing, finished to a really high standard, and gets plenty of natural light. Around it are seven acres of informal wooded grounds, with a terrace, a lower meadow for lawn games, fire pits and space for a marquee or fireworks. There's a bar and catering facilities on site with a list of approved caterers, and guests will soon be able to stay nearby at Rook Meadow Retreats, the barn's own accommodation.

Where the best photos are

​

• Inside the barn. The oak beams give the room a warm, intimate feel. Candles and fairy lights look amazing against the timber in the evening.

• The terrace and gardens. Great for relaxed drinks reception photos and big group shots without feeling cramped.

• The woods behind the barn. A short walk away and completely private, perfect for couple portraits.

• The lower meadow. Lawn games, fire pits and plenty of space, which makes for great candid photos of your guests.

Light, timings and wet weather

The oak framing holds warm light beautifully, so warm-toned decor and plenty of candles really pay off in your evening photos. In summer, golden hour comes late, so a short break before the first dance is ideal for portraits in the woods. In winter the light goes early, so we'll do portraits soon after the ceremony. If it rains, the barn and terrace give you options, and being local means I know the venue well in every kind of weather.
