Bressingham Hall Wedding Photographer

Bressingham Hall is a Regency house built in 1803, just outside Diss. Next to it is the High Barn, a traditional Norfolk barn with timber framing, flint and brick, which works as a blank canvas for your ceremony. Many couples add a marquee or stretch tent for dinner and dancing. The Hall sleeps 21, and there are glamping bell tents for extra guests. The whole place sits within 17 acres of world-renowned gardens, some with trees over 500 years old.

Where the best photos are

• The High Barn. Oak beams and flint give ceremony photos plenty of warmth and character.

• The gardens. Meadows, structured beds and hidden walkways mean you can get relaxed couple portraits and family groups without anyone having to stand stiffly in a line.

• The courtyard. Perfect for drinks, and a lovely spot on a sunny afternoon.

• The steam museum next door. If you want something a bit different, the vintage carousel makes for fun, colourful photos.

 

Light, timings and wet weather

 

With 17 acres of gardens, it's worth slipping away for 15 to 20 minutes during the drinks reception for portraits. It gives us time to use the gardens properly without you missing much. In summer, golden hour is late, so we can grab a few more portraits in the evening. If the weather turns, the barn, courtyard and marquee give us plenty of covered options.
