Bruce & Kim's Autumn Wedding at South Farm, with a Hint of Halloween
Updated: Sep 22
Bruce and Kim's wedding at South Farm was a few days before Halloween, and they made the most of it. The ceremony itself was traditional, but the reception had Halloween cocktails and a few spooky decorations, which went down really well with their guests.

About South Farm
South Farm is an exclusive-use venue at Shingay-cum-Wendy, near Royston, on the Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire border. It's a group of converted 16th-century barns set in around 20 acres, with formal gardens, meadows, orchards and ponds, plus rare-breed animals. There are several ceremony spaces, from the big Tudor Barn to a garden summerhouse for smaller outdoor weddings.
Going all in on autumn
Kim and Bruce embraced the season. The bridesmaids wore deep burgundy, the groomsmen had matching ties, and the flowers were all oranges and reds. The tables were dressed with autumn leaves, pumpkins and candles, which made the room feel really cosy.

Tips for an autumn wedding
Autumn is a great time of year for photos. The colours are rich and the light is lower and softer. The catch is that it gets dark earlier, so check the sunset time for your date and plan your couple portraits for an hour or so before. Once it's dark, candles and fairy lights earn their keep.
