Kirsty & Callum: A Summer Wedding at Copdock Hall
Kirsty and Callum got married at Copdock Hall on the last day of July, and the weather turned up properly for them. Big blue skies, white clouds drifting over the vineyard, and enough sunshine that Callum's sunglasses stayed on for a good chunk of the afternoon.
Getting ready
The morning started quietly. Callum was getting ready with a bit of help on the cufflinks and collar, while the rings sat in their little blue box waiting for their moment.

Over with Kirsty, the hair was being finished in front of a lit mirror surrounded by the usual army of hairspray cans. Then earrings in, dress on, and a few quiet minutes by the window before heading out. That portrait of her standing in the soft light from the doorway is one of my favourites from the whole day. She looks completely calm, which is more than most people manage an hour before their ceremony.

A ceremony in the vineyard
Copdock Hall has an oak gazebo out in the vineyard for outdoor ceremonies, and the path up to it is lined with lavender. Callum waited at the top doing a decent job of looking relaxed. Kirsty came up the aisle with the old brick barn behind her and all their guests sat out in the sunshine.

The flowers were bright orange and white, with red hot pokers standing tall out of the arrangements, and they looked brilliant against the green of the vines. Signing the register under the gazebo with all that colour in front of them made for a lovely frame. Then back down the aisle as husband and wife.

Confetti, cake and the barn
The confetti line was a proper one, everyone packed in either side of the path and throwing handfuls as they came through. Kirsty's grin says it all.

Inside, the barn was set up for dinner with round tables, crossback chairs and festoon lights strung across the brick walls. It's a gorgeous room once the lights are on. The cake sat on top of an old wine barrel, which suits the vineyard setting perfectly, and they cut it together with plenty of laughing.

Portraits and golden hour
We snuck out a couple of times for portraits. A quick one in the afternoon back at the gazebo once the chairs had emptied, and then again at golden hour. There's a freshly cut field right by the venue, and the low sun over the stubble was exactly what I'd hoped for. Those last few frames of the two of them in that warm light are my picks from the day.

First dance
Back in the barn, the first dance had everyone gathered round to watch, and it didn't take long for the dancefloor to fill up after that.

Kirsty and Callum, thank you so much for having me. It was a brilliant day and I loved every bit of it.
If you're planning a wedding at Copdock Hall, or anywhere else in Suffolk, Norfolk or Essex, get in touch. I'd love to hear about it.
