Georgia & Mark's Wedding, Southminster and Burnham-on-Crouch

Georgia and Mark got married at St Leonard's Church in Southminster, then headed a couple of miles down the road to The Swallowtail in Burnham-on-Crouch for their reception. It's a lovely corner of Essex, out on the Dengie peninsula, with the River Crouch on one side and big open skies everywhere else.
The church and the reception
St Leonard's is the old parish church in Southminster, with plenty of character inside and out. The Swallowtail is a bar and restaurant overlooking the marina at Burnham, so the reception had a completely different feel: boats, water and a relaxed seaside-town atmosphere.
Couple portraits without missing the party
Georgia and Mark wanted to spend as much of the day as possible with their guests, so we kept the couple shots short. With a little direction we had them done quite quickly, and then they were back with everyone. Ten or fifteen minutes is usually plenty if you pick the right spot and the right light.
If you're marrying somewhere near the water, it's worth building a short break for photos into your timings around golden hour. The light on the water at that time of day is hard to beat.
