Tom & Catherine's Wedding at Henham Park, near Southwold

Tom and Catherine got married at Henham Park, a private estate just off the A12 near Southwold. You arrive along a long lime avenue through open parkland, and by the time you reach the barns you feel a long way from anywhere. It's a lovely place to photograph a wedding.
About Henham Park
Weddings here are based at Henham Barns, which the estate runs as a blank canvas. Couples bring in their own suppliers or choose from Henham's list, and there's accommodation on site for around 50 guests, so plenty of couples turn it into a whole weekend rather than a single day. You can be married by the Suffolk registrars or your own celebrant, and the coast at Southwold is only about ten minutes down the road.
Photographing a wedding at Henham
The big thing Henham gives you is space. The parkland is huge and open, so there's no shortage of places for couple portraits and you never feel hemmed in. A short walk away from the barns for ten or fifteen minutes gives you a breather from the party, and you come back with photos that really show off the setting.
Because the park is so open, the light changes a lot through the day. Late afternoon and early evening are the best times for portraits, so it's worth building a quiet break around then. In the winter months that window comes early, so talk your timings through with your photographer when you're planning the day.
